Genevieve Santos is an award-winning entrepreneur, makeup artist and publicist in New York City. She is the founder of Gorgeous on the Go, providing on-location makeup and skincare services for private and corporate clients. Her website features an interactive video blog on the life of a beauty entrepreneur, the latest event and product reviews in fashion and lifestyle, and tips on how to stay gorgeous on the go.
Genevieve develops custom marketing programs for small businesses in the areas of publicity, social media and email marketing. Genevieve started her first business at age 17, a custom line of photo albums, and has been featured in the New York Daily News, Newsday, CNNfn Live, and ABC Eyewitness News. She is an active volunteer with the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), and Bellerose Assembly of God. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the City College of New York.
The Company
In 2005, founder Genevieve Santos realized that she could share her talent with other women who needed simple makeup application. As a result, she started promoting herself as a makeup artist to family and friends, traveling extensively and providing services for Bridal Parties, Sweet 16s, and women’s organizations. What originally started as a simple business on the side became a brand. Thus, Gorgeous on the Go was born and the company officially launched in January 2006.
As Genevieve’s clientele grew, she duplicated herself through a franchise model, where she would train other women as beauty consultants to avoid the burden of hiring employees. They endorse the ARTISTRY line of skincare & cosmetics, one of the top 5 prestige beauty brands worldwide. Within 16 months of launching, Gorgeous on the Go has provided make-up artists for numerous photo shoots, public access television, and fashion shows.
