What’s the Beauty in Sponsoring Events?
Personally, I’ve never wanted to be in the fashion industry. However, after doing makeup for numerous fashion shows, it’s exciting seeing hours of effort come together for a show that only lasts for 10 minutes. The event planner inside of me always wanted to take on that endeavor of planning and producing such a show. Or at least a portion of it!
I have the privilege of partnering with New York Fashion Connect, an innovative online boutique that gives emerging designers a platform to sell their clothing online. After assisting on their Fall 2008 show, I stayed in touch with their staff and they asked me join their Pre-New York Fashion Week event, Rose a la Mode, which will be THIS Thursday, February 5th!
Gorgeous on the Go is the official beauty sponsor for the event, coordinating all the hair & makeup staff for this giant fashion show. Together with my key hair & makeup artist Stephanie Flor, we came up with the looks for the show & found so many amazing people to help out on the show! Imagine coordinating a uniform look for over 10 designers showing at this event! At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, it’s only 1 designer per show, but this is 13 designers in 3 hours! Anyway, Stephanie and I knew what we were getting into, and now I can’t wait for everything to unfold on Thursday!
