Gorgeous on the Go & Carmindy!
After hearing a radio ad for an event in Bryant Park, I checked the website and found that Carmindy, resident makeup artist on TLC’s What Not to Wear was doing a book reading & signing in the park! I grabbed her book, “The Five Minute Face” back in the summer, so this was the prime opportunity to network with such an expert!
Lesson Learned: Recharge my batteries so I can bring an actual camera to this kind of occasion! At least my phone didn’t die!
Regardless, Carmindy is the same sweetheart on and off-camera. When I told her I was a makeup artist, she was like, “So why aren’t you in those tents for Fashion Week?” She shared some advice about advancing in this industry, such as becoming an assistant for lead makeup artists and adding tear sheets to my portfolio. See, I’m not so stingy in sharing advice.
